Anne Leplae - Executive Director
Anne's family, with her Belgian father and French mother, immigrated to the US when her father accepted a position as a physics professor at UW – Milwaukee. Anne has been the Executive Director of Alliance Française de Milwaukee since 1998. Anne lived several years in France and Belgium as well as in Morocco where she served in the Peace Corps as an English teacher in a small town in the Middle Atlas Mountains. She has worked extensively in the non-profit sector, including refugee resettlement with Russians in Chicago and literacy work with immigrant women in France. Anne holds a degree in liberal arts from Macalester College, master's degrees in Nonprofit Management and International Relations from UW – Milwaukee, and participated in the Future Milwaukee program at Marquette University. Anne was awarded Officer of the Order of Academic Palmes by the French Ministry of National Education in 2022.
Annika de Vogel - Event & Marketing Coordinator
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Annika graduated from Northwestern University in 2021 with a BA in history and minors in French and computer science. She has enjoyed the French language and culture since her childhood ballet classes and the first time she visited France at age 12. She recently spent a year teaching English to primary school students in Chartres, France, and has previously worked as a daycare teacher and French tutor. Annika is excited to be part of the Alliance Française team and to be supporting her fellow French speakers, learners, and enthusiasts in Milwaukee.
