The Alliance Française de Miwaukee group spent 9 days exploring the Charente-Maritime department. This region is located on France's west coast and offered so much to do and see!
Landmarks and landscapes: Saw the 65 million-year-old Matata Caves, limestone cliffs, estuaries, Marennes Orelon (an oyster-farming region) , and Courduan (historical lighthouse).
Visited the cities of Rochelle (capital of the department) and Rochefort. Sightseeing at the Rochefort port, Talmont cliffs and Talmont sur Gironde (a commune).
